Abstract
1,091,745. Extruding. HYDRAULIK G.m.b.H. Aug. 16, 1965 [Aug. 18, 1964], No. 35037/65. Heading B3P. An hydraulic extrusion press has a main driving piston 3, Fig. 2, secured to a crosshead 7 in which is slidably mounted a ram holder 13 carrying the extrusion ram 14 and means 10 are provided for displacing the ram longitudinally independently of the main piston. The latter is double acting and actuates the extrusion ram only during the actual extrusion and withdrawal strokes during which the ram is locked to the crosshead 7 by a bayonet connection (16), (17), Figs. 3, 4 (not shown) actuated by a hydraulic motor (23). When the bayonet connection is released by rotating the ring (17), the ram may be moved by a double-acting piston 10 working within the main piston 3.
