A fan heater having a cross-flow blower includes two sets of four resistance coils 7 mounted within the passage formed by metal plated 1, 2, 3, 4, the two sets being independently energizable, and the bi-metal strip 13 of an adjustable cut-out switch 12 being mounted in the vicinity of one of the coils and in the air flow of the cross-flow blower (not shown).
