Abstract

941,437. Walls. H. H. ROBERTSON (HOLDINGS) Ltd. April 28, 1961 [Nov. 18, 1960], No. 15376/61. Heading E1V. A wall structure comprises a plurality of spaced vertical supports 12 Fig. 1, each formed by bending flat strip material in a generally U-shaped configuration having two vertical lengthwise opposed inset grooves 32, fastening means securing each of said vertical supports outwardly of a building framework, and a plurality of rectangular, normally flat sheets 14 each engaged along apposed vertical sides in adjacent grooves 32 of adjacent supports 12 and being inwardly bowed between its said opposed vertical sides. The vertical supports 12 are supported by horizontal bars 11 of Z-section as in Fig. 1 or of U-section as in Fig. 3, 4 and 5 (not shown) applied over inner sheathing sheets 10, the bars 11 and sheets 10 being secured to the main building framework 16, 22 and 23, Fig. 2, by bolts 24. A sill flashing 28 is bolted to the bottom Z-bar 11, and a flashing strip 36 is secured to a roofing cant 20 by nails 37. Batts 13 of insulation may be positioned between sheets 10 and infil sheets 14. A snap-on cover strip 38 Fig. 6, may be applied over the otherwise exposed portion of each support 12. Caulking material 33 may be applied along each groove 32.
