Abstract
1,005,281. Roof and wall cladding. DORMAN LONG (STEEL) Ltd. April 3, 1964 [April 17, 1963], No. 15076/63. Heading E1V. A roof or wall cladding comprises two series of alternating, interengaging elements 11, 12 substantially of channel section with flanged side walls, the flanges being directed outwardly of the channels in the case of the elements 11 and inwardly of the channels in the case of the elements 12, the flanges themselves constituting channels with the side walls of the elements. The webs 15, 20 of the elements may be arranged on the outside of the structure as in Fig. 6, in which the elements are secured to a purlin 38 by hook bolts 34. Alternatively the flanges 13, 17 may be outermost as in Fig. 7, in which the elements are secured to the purlins by selftapping screws or bolts passing through the webs 15, 20 which co-operate with sealing washers. An outer covering 37 of roofing felt may be provided. Heat insulating material 41, Fig. 6, may be provided between the elements 11, 12 and the purlins or within the channels of the elements as indicated at 42, Fig. 7. The elements 11, 12 may be of galvanised or plasticcoated steel.
