Abstract

875,213. Roofs. ATLAS STONE CO. Ltd. Jan 18, 1960 [March 16, 1959], No. 9044/59. Class 20(4) A double-skinned corrugated roof comprises inverted channel sectioned spacers 3 inserted, transversely to the corrugations, between the lower and upper corrugated skins 1, 9, the sides of the channel being recessed at 5 to receive the corrugations of the lower skin and the channels being formed with pockets 6 each of which receives a nut screwed on to a screw or bolt 7, and a heat insulating mat 8 laid beneath the upper sheet. In the exemplified embodiment the bolts 7 are of hooked form to engage purlins 2 and the sheet 9 is secured by bolts 10 passing through the roof into the purlins. The corrugated sheets 1, 9 and the spacing channels 3 are of asbestos cement. The insulation 8 is formed by a mat or mats of glass fibre. The sheets 1 and 9 may have generally arcuate form.
