Abstract
821,570. Roofing elements; roofs. BJORK, J. H. Jan. 16, 1957 [Jan. 21, 1956], No. 1593/57. Classes 20(4) and 87(1) In a roof covering comprising interlocking rows of plates, each plate 1 comprises a substantially flat body portion with an outwardly directed projection 7 along its upper edge portion and a complementary inwardly directed projection 6 along its lower edge portion, and an aluminium sheet 8 covering the outer surface of the body portion and the projections 6, 7. The body portion may be a continuous board or wood fibre slab or it may comprise spaced strips 12 connected by corrugated sheet-iron ties 13. The projections are in the form of dovetails or tongues and grooves. At one side edge of the plate the aluminium sheet 8 has a tapeziumshaped projection 11 for overlapping the adjacent plate. Ventilation holes 9 are provided in the body portion. The upper edge portion of each plate is nailed at 10 to the rafters 2 and supporting wedges 16 may be inserted between the plates and the rafters. The lower side of the rafters are cowered with heat-insulating material 3.
