Abstract

1315334 Ventilating roofing mats J W HITCHINS 21 Oct 1971 [23 Oct 1970] 50354/70 Heading E1W A roofing mat 1 is formed of water impervious paper, cardboard, metal or high density polystyrene in a shape providing flat based depressions 4 adapted to receive a conglomerate roofing material 11. The depressions are shaped to provide between them underlying interconnected ventilation passages 7. Ventilators 10 communicate with the underlying passageways 7 and are disposed as disclosed in the Specification 1162361. The mats may have apertures 5 in the depressions to allow the overlying screed 11 to be bonded to light weight insulating concrete screed 9 placed on a structural roof 8. The screed 11 is covered with an insulating sheet 13 and roofing surface material 12. The mats may be overlapped to cover larger roof areas.
