Abstract
940,561. Controlling vehicles. KLOCKNERHUMBOLDT-DEUTZ A.G. March 24, 1960 [March 25, 1959], No. 10558/60. Heading B7H. [Also in Division B8] An hydraulic transmission for a motor vehicle comprises two pumps each serving one or more motors driving the wheels or track chain on one side of the vehicle, the pump and/or motors on each side being controlled by a lever, and a mechanism is provided for interconnecting (at will) the two control levers. The rods 7 and 8, Fig. 1, are connected on each side of the vehicle to the apparatus controlling the hydraulic transmission and are connected to bosses 3 and 4 mounted for pivotal movement on shafts 1 and 2. The control levers 5 and 6 are mounted on the bosses 3 and 4 and a friction clutch 10 is arranged between the shafts 1 and 2. The control lever 5 is also mounted for pivotal movement in the plane containing the axes of the shafts 1 and 2, in which plane it may be rotated for engaging and disengaging the clutch 10. In a modification, Fig. 2, the shaft 5 may also be provided with a handle 12 which pivots about the axis 13 and which controls through the flexible cable 15 an hydraulic load carrier. The shaft 5 may also be pivoted about its own axis 16 by means of which a secondary system, e.g. a system for varying the inclination of the load carrier, may be controlled through the flexible cable 17.
