Abstract
Vehicles of this type have usually the disadvantages of complication, hence their price and the difficulty of controlling them. Their advantages are mainly the use of a small prime mover. The transmission which seeks to overcome the difficulties, consists of a transmission box with reduction and reverse gears. It has an input shaft connected both to the prime mover and the flywheel. It also has an output shaft and clutch and a belt speed controller to the wheel (or wheels). The prime mover can be an IC engine or an electric motor. The control of the system can be hydraulic.
