Abstract

A measuring device is provided for the driving and the driven part of the clutch or torque converter. When a specified value of slip of the clutch or converter is reached an electric signal is generted, to either change the gearing in a mechanical transmission or alter the loading on the system. The signal is generated by two compartments that are each directly or indirectly fitted to the driving and driven parts of the cluth or converter. A magnetic or optical system is used connected to a logic circuit. This includes a back up circuit if the slip reaches too high a figure.
