Abstract

A device for controlling the speed of a motor vehicle has a correcting element (10;11) actuable by the driver which delivers an electrical signal and which is connected with the desired value input of an electrical comparator (2). The output signal of the electrical comparator (2) acts on a correcting device (4) coupled with the throttle valve (12), the particular position of the throttle valve (12) being transmitted as an electrical signal to the actual value input of the comparator (2). Means (9) are provided for reducing the amplitude of the signal transmitted between the correcting element (10;11) and the throttle valve (12) by the provision of a shunting voltage divider which can be switched into this connection. The divider operates when the vehicle drive clutch is engaged, at high vehicle speed or acceleration, when wheel slip occurs or when reverse gear is engaged. <IMAGE>
