Abstract

The pawl coupling has, on a continuously rotating shaft, a hub (1) which has at least one driver tooth (3) for a pawl (4) which is connected to a driving shaft. Situated ahead of the driver tooth (3) are two control surfaces (8 and 9 respectively) for the pawl (4). The radially acting control surface (8) eliminates the possibility that the pawl (4) can still engage in the driver tooth (3) when the latter has approached the pawl (4) to within a certain small angular range, while the axially acting control surface (9) displaces the pawl (4) somewhat axially counter to the pressure of a Belleville spring (11) within a certain larger angular range and brings it into secure engagement with the driver tooth (3). <IMAGE>
