A vehicle engine/driving unit comprises a engine D on axis A driving through a torque converter E and chain 29 an automatic transmission F on axis B drivingly connected to differential G on axis C which is parallel to axes A and B. The unit is preferably arranged ahead of the front wheels in a vehicle. The three-speed and reverse transmission F is described fully in Specification 973,493.
