Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable automatic speed change without use of an auxiliary motor pump by incorporating two hydraulic clutches, two one-way clutches, two planetary gear trains, a mechanical clutch, and an oil pump driven by an output shaft.
CONSTITUTION: First and second hydraulic clutches 6 and 7, one-way clutches 8 and 9, a mechanical clutch 10, first and second planetary gear trains 11 and 12, and an oil pump 13 driven by an output shaft 5 are incorporated in the casing 4 of a transmission 3 having an input shaft 2 integral with a motor 1 for driving a vehicle. The input shaft 2 is connected with a ring gear 29 of the planetary gear train 11. Sun gears 27 and 31 of the planetary gear trains 11 and 12 are connected with the casing 4 through the clutches 8 and 6, and with the input shaft 2 through the clutch 7. A carrier 34 of the planetary gear train 12 is connected with the casing 4 through the parallel paths of the clutches 9 and 10.
