939,965. Pipe and rod couplings. UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. Sept. 8, 1961 [Oct. 19, 1960], No. 35829/60. Class 99(1). [Also in Group XXIX] A selector valve has arcuately arranged ports enlarged at 17 to receive and align a mouthpiece 24 in communication with a conduit 26, the mouthpiece being displaceable both angularly and linearly for registration with and insertion into a port enlargement and being retractable positively for withdrawal from the enlargement. The mouthpiece and a number of obturator plugs for closing the ports which are not in use are carried by an annular plate 19 on a shaft 20 turned by a hand wheel 35 and located in each angular position by a spring-loaded pin 36. Axial displacement of the shaft is effected by a toggle handle 33, 34 through a sleeve 30 and a stop ring 32 with an interposed spring 31. An arcuate groove connecting ports that are not required has a bore midway along its length sealed by a plug 15. Specification 913,489 is referred to.
