Abstract
935,158. Fluid fuel burners. NU-WAY HEATING PLANTS Ltd. July 23, 1962 [Aug. 8, 1961], No. 28546/61. Class 75 (1). A fluid fuel burner comprises a head 10 having a forwardly divergent orifice 11, an annular gas conduit 14 disposed at the rear end of the orifice 11 and having radially inward discharge apertures 16, and a duct 19 supplying air to the orifice 11 and to an annular passage 12 which surrounds the orifice 11 and which communicates with the forward end of the orifice through an annular port 13 or a series of radial ports. The gas conduit 14 is connected to a supply pipe 15. A further annular gas conduit 17 supplied by a pipe 9 is disposed at the rear end of the annular passage 12 and has radially inward discharge apertures 18. A disc 22 having an aperture 23 and air swirl louvres 24 is mounted at the rear end of the orifice 11. One or more liquid fuel burner nozzles 20 may be directed into the orifice 11 and one or more ignition electrodes 21 are provided.
