Abstract

935,095. Linkwork. K. R. T. LJUNSTROM. March 30, 1960 [March 31, 1959], No. 11239/60. Class 80 (3). Mechanism for producing reciprocation of a stylus 7 along a line 12 without rotation with respect thereto comprises two arms 4, 8 pivotally linked by a journal 6 on which are mounted concentric wheels 1, 25, attached respectively to the ends of the arms 4, 8, wheel 1 being connected by a belt or chain with a fixed wheel 2, concentric with a driving-shaft 5, and wheel 25 being connected by a similar belt or chain with a wheel 27 supporting the driven stylus 7. The diameter of wheel 2 is twice that of wheel 1 and the diameter of wheel 27 is twice that of wheel 25. Each belt may comprise a steel band attached to the associated wheels at a suitable point on each wheel. Oscillation through an angle of less than 180 degrees is imparted to the arm 4 by the driving shaft 5.
