Abstract

878,976. Gun mountings. KELLER & KNAPPICH G.m.b.H. July 8, 1960 [Aug. 8, 1959], No. 23864/60. Class 92. The cradle 4 of a gun 2 carried by a tank turret 6 is secured to a shield 5 by means of vibration absorbing members 8 mounted on cylindrical pins 7 fixed to the cradle 4, the pins 7 being arranged in a plane at right-angles to the axis of rotation 16 of the turret 6 and the shield 5 being mounted in the tank turret on horizontal pivots 15 which also form pivots for elevational movements of the gun. The shield 5 is formed in the manner of a roller blind. The vibration absorbing members each comprise an annular rubber or rubber-like plastic core 8 faced by two annular metal bushes 8<SP>1</SP>, 8<SP>11</SP> rigidly secured respectively to the pin 7 and shield 5. To relieve the core 8 of torque, a lever arm 9 rigidly fixed to the shield 5 has a longitudinal slot 10 through which extends a bolt 11 fixed to the cradle 4.
