Abstract

887,611. Vehicle frames; articulated vehicles. RHEINSTAHL HANOMAG A.G. Dec. 8, 1959, No. 41602/59. Classes 79(3) and 79(4). The frame of a motor vehicle, e.g. a lorry, is constructed in two parts, 1, 1<SP>1</SP>, Fig. I, joined by spring means, which may be a torsion bar 6, Fig. 3, attached at 9 to a tube 5 forming part of the frame part 1 and provided with bearing bushes 7, the other frame part 1<SP>1</SP> being connected to the torsion bar by brackets 8. The torsion bar 6 may be in two separate lengths so as to be unaffected by frame twisting. In a modification, Fig. 5, the frame parts are pivoted together at 15 and are connected by springs 13, or, as shown in Fig. 8, one frame part may be supported by a square section rod 17 mounted in rubber seatings 18 carried in a tube 16 forming part of the other frame part.
