Abstract

932,998. Spray - producers. MACHINES ELECTROSTATIQUES S.A. DE. April 26, 1960 [April 27, 1959], No. 14595/60. Class 69 (3). A rotatable head for atomizing substances such as paint both electrostatically and by centrifugal force comprises a cylindrical body 1 with a detachable collar 3 having a sharp or tapering spraying edge 5 the collar being secured by an interfitting complementary rib 2 and groove 6. The collar is made of an electrically high resistivity material, e.g. an epoxy resin having a lamp black or " carbon black " filling, or may be of a slightly conductive rubber, the material preferably having a resistivity of the order of 10<SP>6</SP> ohms/cm. The body may be metal or of an electrically high resistivity material, e.g. a plastic material. As an alternative, the rib may be on the collar and the groove in the body. There may be more than one rib and groove.
