Abstract

909,915. Electrostatic precipitation. DUNLOP RUBBER CO. Ltd. March 18, 1959 [April 19, 1958], No. 12473/58. Class 39 (1). In electrostatic coating apparatus the earthed conducting supports 1 for the articles 4 to be coated are shrouded in insulating material 5 except at the points of contact with the articles. A conducting jacket may be mounted over the insulating material or, in another arrangement, Fig. 3, the supports may be sheathed by a separate jacket of conducting material 10 which is mounted on the support by blocks of insulating material 13. In both cases the conducting jacket is held at the potential of the discharge electrodes in order to repel the charged particles. The insulating material may be polythene.
