Abstract
930,589. Combustion apparatus. BATAAFSE PETROLEUM MAATSCHAPPIJ N.V. March 12, 1962 [March 13, 1961], No. 9427/62. Class 51(1). A liquid fuel combustion device of the type disclosed in Specifications 825,594 and 703,721 comprises an air chamber 5 and a combustion chamber 1 lined with refractory material joined by a throat 2 an atomising burner 4, secondary air ducts 3 disposed in a circle around the throat directed outwardly at 20-40 degrees to the central axis and an air box 7 supplying air to the ducts 3 and tangential air inlets 6. The duets 3 have nozzles 9 which may be of silicon carbide and vary from twelve to thirty-six in number according to the capacity of the device.
