Abstract

990,550. Pulverized fuel burners. L. & C. STEINMULLER G.m.b.H. Jan. 11, 1962 [Jan. 11, 1961], No. 1088/62. Heading F4T. An arrangement of three burners and three cooling tubes 5, 6, 7, for each burner, comprises conduits (not shown) supplying water to the tubes and arranged so that the cooling tubes 5, 6, 7 associated with an individual burner are connected together in parallel whilst the cooling tube 5 of one burner is connected in series with the cooling tubes 6, 7 of the other two burners. Each burner comprises a core air jet 1, an annular jet 2 charged with a mixture of pulverized fuel and air, a jacket air jet 3 and an oil-fed pilot burner 4. The core air jet is cooled by the coil tube 5. The wall between the annular jet 2 and the jacket air jet 3 is cooled by the coil tube 6 and the outer wall of air jet 3 is cooled by the coil tube 7. Each burner part, together with its associated cooling tube, can be removed after release of the connections to the conduits.
