A vapour burner in which petroleum is fed from a container 1 to a vaporizer 4 which communicates with a plurality of jets 7 arranged opposite air-vapour mixing ducts 14, 11 and 9 leading to burners 15, 12 and 10 the burner 10 of which heats the vaporizer 4 has a cap 17 mounted above the auxiliary burner 10 to collect the hot gases rising therefrom and to direct such gases through ducts 18 to the outside of the air-vapour mixing ducts 14 of one or more burners 15. The cap 17 may be arranged directly above the vaporizer 4 or above a vapour distributing duct 6, Fig. 3. The ducts 18 may be below, Fig. 3, or above, Fig. 4 (not shown) the air-vapour mixing ducts 14.
