Abstract

930,125. Lights for small arms. BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CO. Ltd. April 3, 1962 [Jan. 5, 1961], No. 450/61. Class 119. A telescopic sight 1 supported on a channelshaped mount 2 by which it is secured to the small arm, is connected to the mount by two longitudinally spaced screwed pins 12, 18 disposed with their axes perpendicular to one another and to the sighting axis, each pin being adjustable so as to tilt the sight 1 with respect to the mount 2 about the axis of the other pin. The body of the sight 1 is provided with integral bosses 9; 10, the boss 9 being received between spaced wings 11 on the mount 2, and the pin 12 passing through apertures in the boss 9 and wings 11. A head 13 on the pin 12 turns in a clearance hole in one wing 11 and engages one side of the boss 9 so that tightening of a nut 14 moves the boss 9 and hence the sight 1 against the action of a spring 15 which prevents backlash. The pin 18 is moulded into the boss 10 and passes through an elongated hole 17 in an extension 16 of the web 3 of the mount 2, the web 3 being formed with a resilient tongue 20 engaging the underside of the sight 1. Tightening or loosening a nut 19 on the pin 18 thus raises or lowers the rear end of the sight 1. The nuts 14 19 may be calibrated. The mount 2 is secured to the small arm by the means described in Specification 930,124.
