Abstract

1427387 Motor vehicle headlamp adjustment ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 12 April 1973 [13 April 1972] 17651/73 Heading F4R In a motor vehicle headlamp arrangement in which the reflector 10 is pivotably mounted in a fixed bearing 21 on a supporting frame 15 and is adjustable about a horizontal and a vertical axis by two adjustment screws 39 attached to the supporting frame, each adjustment screw is arranged to move a bearing block guided in the supporting frame and in which a ball pin 13 attached to the reflector is pivotally held. As shown, for adjustment in the horizontal plane about the vertical axis 32 a bearing block 25 is mounted on guide bars 23, 24 in the recess 22 in the frame 15, the bore 26 in the block 25 supporting the pin 20 of the ball pin 13, Fig. 2. The bearing block 25 has an arm 34 which has a slit 36 between a threaded hole 35 and the body of the block 25, the hole 35 receiving the adjusting screw 39 which is rotatably mounted by rubber sleeve 42, washer 43 and disc 44 on eye 37 of the supporting frame 15. The thread of hole 35 is cut by rotating the adjusting screw 39 on assembling the arrangement to minimize play of the screw. A blind hole 33 in the pin 20 may be provided to make the bearing resilient. The other adjustment screw 39, see also Fig. 3 (not shown), is mounted on a nut 30 secured on a bent lever 27 that is pivotably mounted on the frame by a rivet 28.
