One or more resilient stop members A, B, C are provided on the central longitudinal vertical plane of an engine assembly 10 which is resiliently mounted in a vehicle structure 17, each stop member permitting a limited free relative vertical travel between the assembly 10 and the structure 17 before abutment but permitting relative rotational movement about a longitudinal axis of the assembly 10 without abutment, and each comprising one component 25 connected without vertical play to one of the relatively movable members 10 and 17 and to the other movable member by means of yielding elements 29 having low resistance in the vertical direction, the said other member having counterstop members 32, 33 against which said one component 25 comes into abutment at the end of its free travel. Preferably, a single central stop member B or two outer step members A, C are provided disposed below the C.G. S. of the assembly 10. The stop member A comprises a depending bracket 22 secured to the assembly 10 and carrying in a vertical slot 24 a vertically adjustable core 26 on which is vulcanized a resilient block 28 which has flexible lateral portions 29 vulcanized at their ends to the side members 30 of a counterstop secured to a vehicle cross-member 17 and which abuts rails 32, 33 of the counterstop on taking up of the clearance e 1 or e 2 from the rest position. In a modification, Fig. 9, the stop member comprises a rigid component 48 adjustably secured to a vehicle cross-member, abuttable with a pair of opposed resilient blocks 46, 47 secured to a member 45 forming part of a resilient mount for an extension 43 of the engine assembly 10, and connected by rubber bridges 49 to the member 45.
