Abstract

The end of the car stabiliser is fitted with an eye which is coupled to a central bar by two elastic pads and a concentric spacer tube. The pads are further reinforced by two other pads held in opposing cups on the spacer tube. The end of the coupling bar is mounted in the steering arm by opposing elastic pads. The relative characteristics of the elastic pads can be chosen to compensate for understeer at low speeds and for oversteer at high speeds, brought about by centripetal forces. The system can be adapted for use in different vehicles by changing the pads.
