Abstract
704,523. Preventing wheel slip. ETABLISSEMENTS STABILEX. Oct. 9, 1952, No. 25283/52. Class 108(2) A device for counteracting the tendency of skidding road vehicles to swerve, comprises a casing adapted to be mounted on the vehicle in a 'substantially transverse and horizontal position, a hollow weight slidingly displaceable on a transverse support member secured within the casing and compression springs interposed between the ends of the casing and the weight tending to keep the latter substantially in the centre of the casing and capable of yielding before the weight when inertia shifts the latter towards one of the ends of the casing. In the arrangement shown in which a cylindrical casing 1 is sealed by heads 2, 2<1> and is mounted transversely of a vehicle, a hollow weight 10 is slidable on a bar 6 within the casing. against either one of a pair of springs 12, 12'. The weight is provided with bushes 11 and an oiling duct 13 is formed in the head 2.
