Abstract

733,801. Spring suspensions. FORD MOTOR CO., Ltd. July 16, 1953 [Oct. 22, 1952], No. 26500/52. Class 108 (2). A vehicle wheel suspension comprises a generally vertical spring - loaded telescopic hydraulic shock absorber 1 in which a stub axle 3 for the wheel fits in the lower end mounting 2 of the shock absorber and is secured against outboard movement by means of a pin 4 passing through a hole 2a extending through the lower end mounting 2 of the shockabsorber 1 and through the stub axle 3. As shown, the lower end of the pin 4 is balljointed to a radius arm 5.
