Abstract

In an independent wheel suspension having a telescopic strut comprising a vibration damper and a spring as described in Specification 832,669, the wheel spindle is formed in one piece and has a pair of spaced apart arms 5, 7 having coaxial apertures to receive the lower end of the strut. A flanged part 9 has threaded holes 27 to mount a disc brake unit and threaded holes 29 are provided for securing a dust shield. A cap member 23 is bolted to the bottom of the spindle and supports a ball pin 21 for mounting in the socket of a transverse control arm. The bottom of the telescopic strut is recessed at 15 to accommodate the nut on the ball pin.
