Abstract
919,995. Supporting electric light fittings. BOISSEVAIN, W., and HOARE, L. C. Oct. 27, 1961 [March 3, 1961], No. 7886/61. Class 75(3). An electrical fitting comprises a mounting member 10, a rigid tube 13 projecting through a hole in the member 10 and connected thereto by means which permit of rotation of the tube about its axis through approximately 360 degrees and include resiliently loaded means opposing such rotation and a lamp or plug socket 20 mounted on the opposite end of the tube 13 through a knuckle connection 22 permitting displacement of the socket about an axis normal to the axis of the tube. The tube may be secured by means of a pin 15 passing through it and having an enlarged head 16 moving in a recess 10b in the mounting member and a nut 14 threaded on the tube at the rear of the mounting member with interposition of a pair of wavy washers 18 separated by a plane washer 19. In place of the washers 18, 19 a spring washer or coil spring may be used. A stop 17 is provided in the recess 106 to limit rotation of the tube.
