Abstract

928,563. Grinding apparatus. MALOMGEPGYAR. July 27, 1961, No. 27217/61. Class 59. In apparatus for producing flour by means of pressure rollers and impact breakers, the width of the gap between each pair of pressure rollers is 0.6 to 0.01 mm. Each pair of pressure rollers preferably has its associated breaker mounted therebelow in such a way that compressed grain passes from the pressure rollers through a hopper under its own weight directly into the impact breaker. As shown in Fig. 2, the baffle plate 11 of the impact breaker is adjustable parallel to the axis of the breaker by means of three adjustable screws 12 and the plate 11 may have zones of different degrees of roughness. In Fig. 3, the grain passes from the pressure rollers 3 into a hopper 4 and thence into a chamber 14 terminating in a nozzle 15 to which compressed air is supplied by a pipe 16. The grain forced through the nozzle is thrown against a rotatable baffle plate 18. There may be two oppositely-directed nozzles leading from the chamber 14 and each faced by a rotatable baffle plate, the pipe 16 being perpendicular to the nozzles.
