Abstract
1288969 Roller and ring mills STEIN INDUSTRIE 9 Dec 1969 [9 Dec 1968] 60098/69 Addition to 1242887 Heading B2A A roller-and-ring mill includes a replaceable reduction-gear unit 25. As described, the mill comprises rollers 11 applied to a track 4 and carried by a plate 10. Plate 10 is secured to the output shaft 24 of the unit 25. The unit 25 serves as the sole support for the rotary plate 10. An air duct 34 opens at 35 beneath the plate 10 and close to the shaft 24. Over pressure air passes into an annular passage formed by an annular shoulder 36 on the lower face of the plate 10. Dust is thus prevented from reaching the shaft 24 and penetrating the reduction-gear unit 25. Coarse material is thrown on to the rolling track by blades 18.
