Abstract
1418225 Rolling mills KENNAMETAL Inc 28 Sept 1973 [2 Oct 1972] 45464/73 Heading B3M [Also in Division F2] A forming roll suitable for a rod rolling mill has an annular body 88, Fig. 4, of hard wear resistant material (e.g. cemented tungsten carbide) with one end plane and the other end provided with a shallow wedge shape Fig. 5 shows such a wedge shape on a ring 94, and a co-operating abutment ring 96. The body 88 is compressed between a shaped abutment ring 80 and a threaded ring 90. The ring 80 may be welded to the shaft 84 of the roll, be keyed in position, or be threaded on the shaft. Two roll bodies may be mounted on a common shaft (Fig. 1, not shown).
