Abstract

1,036,252. Rolling. DANITE HARD METALS Ltd. Jan. 11, 1965 [March 11, 1964], No. 10373/64. Heading B3M. A roll for rolling metal comprises a tool steel shaft 10, having a tapered portion on which is secured a cemented tungsten carbide sleeve 12. The sleeve is clamped by clamps 14 which engage the ends of the sleeve, and are keyed to the shaft by two sets of keys 16. The ends of the sleeve are disposed in parallel planes at an angle normal to the sleeve axis, and the adjacent faces of the clamps are similarly disposed.
