924,168. Pens for recording-instruments. ETHER Ltd. Sept. 29, 1960 [May 19, 1960], No. 17687/60. Class 146 (3). A pen for a recording device comprises a member 1 carrying a separable pen unit 5 having a tubular reservoir portion 6 opening into a pen tube 8 of considerably smaller cross-section than the portion 6. The outer end of the tube 8 forms the writing end of the pen unit, ink being normally prevented from flowing to the writing end of the tube 8 and the opposite end of the portion 6 by reason of their small cross-sections, but being removable from the pen tube during recording. The portion 6 may be of synthetic plastic or aluminium or alloy thereof. The member 1 is mounted on a rotatable shaft 13 and carries a multiplicity of units 5 which may be supplied with inks of different colours.
