Abstract

793,269. Reservoir pens. STEPHENS, Ltd., H. C. Nov. 19, 1956 [Nov. 18, 1955] No. 33132/55. Class 146(3) A ball-point pen comprises a writing unit 1 wherein an ink reservoir tube 2 has two writing points 6, 7, one at each end thereof, each point being supplied with ink from a separate column of ink one column 3 extending for a major portion of the tube; located between the two columns of ink an air vent 5 is provided in the wall of the tube 2. The tube 2 is of capillary size and of transparent synthetic plastic material. The unit is inserted in a barrel so that the point 6 is used for writing. When the ink column 3 is exhausted, the unit is removed from the barrel and reversed so that the point 7 can be brought into use until a new refill is available. According to the Provisional Specification, the two columns may contain inks of different colours and the unit may be mounted in a barrel so that a writing point projects from each end.
