923,268. Linkwork. SOC. D'OPTIQUE ET DE MECANIQUE DE HANTE PRECISION. Sept. 12, 1961 [Sept. 12, 1960], No. 32680/61. Class 80 (3). In flexible link mechanism converting rotation of a drum 1 into linear movement of an indicating or other member 7, two similar metal tapes 3, 10, one of which carries the member 7, are wrapped in opposite directions around the drum and are secured at one end to the drum and at the other end to respective loose pulleys 5, 9 on a shaft 8, the pulleys being rotatably biased relative to each other by a spring 13 which thus tensions the tapes. The drum 1 and pulleys 5, 9 have equal diameters and parallel axes. In a modification, the pulleys 5, 9 are arranged side-by-side with the spring housed in a recess.
