921,453. Cables. PIRELLI S.p.A. AZIONI. Oct. 13, 1960 [Nov. 14, 1959], No. 35055/60. Class 36. A cable for use in high-temperature situations is made by surrounding the conductor 1 successively with one or more layers of overlapping, sinterable P.T.F.E. tapes 2 and then by one or more layers of already sintered P.T.F.E. tapes 3, covering the whole with a metal or spun glass braid 4 and finally heating the cable in a furnace for a sufficient time to sinter tapes 2. The tapes 3 may be adhesive on one face and the braiding 4 may be impregnated with an emulsion of P.T.F.E. to give it a low coefficient of sliding friction.
