Abstract
950,873. Electric cables. WANDLESIDE CABLE WORKS Ltd., and W. L. WRAY. March 19, 1962 [March 28, 1961], No. 11224/61. Heading H1A. [Also in Division H5] The insulation of a heating cable is composed mainly of a fluorine containing polymeric plastics material e.g. P.T.F.E., polychlorotrifluoroethylene, or a fully fluorinated copolymer of ethylene and propylene. The core may be a single wire or bunched or stranded multiple wires of copper, nickel, or chromium alloys, or of tinned or nickel-plated steel. The plastics insulation may be extruded over the core, or may be in the form of a tape wrapped helically about the core, and may itself be protected by a layer of woven glass braiding impregnated, by sintering, with a P.T.F.E. dispersion, or by asbestos braiding impregnated with silicone rubber or varnish. Dimensions and ratings are given.
