1303917 Cables A S FIALKOV O F KUCHENSKAYA S G ZAICHIKOV T D BAEVSKAYA T M ORLOVICH L I KRANIKHFELD L Z KHAZEN and L A AVERYANOVA 7 July 1971 31804/71 Heading H1A [Also in Division H5] A flexible electric heating cable comprises an inner core 1, having a plurality of graphitecontaining conductors, embedded in an elastic, heat-conducting material 2, covered by an electrically insulating sheath 3. The material 2 may be an organic polysiloxane, natural caoutchouc, a fluoro-elastomer, low molecular weight polyethylene or a polyamide. A filler material such as a metal or metal oxide, may be introduced into the material 2 to increase its heat conductivity. The insulating sheath 3 may be of the same material as the layer 2. The elastic material 2 may be vulcanized, e.g. by radiation or chemically, before the sheathing operation takes place.
