Abstract

1,077,746. Sheathed resistance heating elements. ISOPAD Ltd. March 4, 1966 [March 16, 1965], No. 11098/65. Heading H5H. [Also in Division H2] The crimped connection 7 between a conductor 6 and a heating element comprising a magnesium oxide insulated conductor 3 having metal sheath 1 is sealed by passing a sleeve of irradiated plastics material over it and heatshrinking the sleeve to makeintimate contact with the connection. Preferably the sleeve has an inner layer which is plastic at the shrinking temperature and fills the spaces around the crimped section. The sleeve may be of P.V.C. or P.T.F.E.
