Abstract

920,296. Oil stoves. F. HELKENBERG. July 13, 1960 [Aug. 21, 1959], No. 24352/60. Class 126. A liquid fuel heating stove has a substantially cylindrical bell-shaped chimney 4 having a throat 9 near its upper end. The chimney which may be formed of refractory glass is mounted in a resilient ring 5 round the top of the burner 1. Preferably the inner diameter of the throat 9 is the same as or less than the diameter of the burner flame 3. The throat 9 is stated to cause partially combusted gases to flow back and be completely burnt thus eliminating smell whilst the chimney 4 need be only half the height of known chimneys. A flared portion 10 of the chimney may support a glow basket (not shown).
