Abstract
919,168. Optical apparatus. SICK, E. Oct. 26, 1959 [Oct. 25, 1958], No. 36122/59. Class 97 (1). [Also in Groups XIX, XXIV and XL (b)] In an optical system for a photo-electric arrangement (see Group XL (b)) light from lamp 3 passes through aperture 5 in mirror 6 to impinge on concave mirror 2 fixed to rotating shaft 1. As shaft 1 rotates, beam 8 describes a cone and is caused substantially to retrace its path by reflex reflector 9. Slight displacement introduced at reflector 9 causes the beam to be reflected from mirror 6 to photo-cell 11. In modifications, mirror 2 may be replaced by three mirrors forming a pyramid and reflector 9 by a comer reflector on an instrument pointer.
