918,838. Combine-harvesters. CLAAS, R. Dec. 5, 1961 [Dec. 6, 1960], No. 43528/61. Class 6(3). [Also in Group XXVI] In a combine harvester having an axialintake winnowing-fan, impellers 37 are mounted in the end-faces to deliver air into the interior of the rotor. The rotor comprises a shaft 30 carrying longitudinal blades 35 which deliver air tangentially through a duct 22. Each impeller is coaxial with the rotor and comprises blades 37 extending outwardly from the rotor-shaft to a ring 38, 40. One end ring 40 is plain and the other forms a pulley for a V- belt 39 driving the rotor. In a modification (not illustrated) the impellers may be independently driven.
