Abstract

915,280. Bobbins. BRITISH NYLON SPINNERS Ltd. Jan. 9, 1962 [Jan. 11, 1961], No. 1158/61. Class 120 (3). A bobbin or tube comprises an inner rigid tube 1 with one end 2 of larger diameter and having a resilient periphery as provided by a spiral spring 3 carried in an annular groove, and a replaceable, deformable sleeve 4 which can collapse on to the tube 1 under stress so as to permit shrinkage of yarn wound thereon, e.g. when subjected to wet heat to stabilize or set the yarn, and has a rolled edge at 5 filling the tube 1. The rigid tube may be of wood, plastic or metal, e.g. aluminium, steel, and the sleeve of (spiralwound) paper, plastic, rubber or synthetic rubber. Specification 822,650 is referred to.
