Abstract

562,328. Hosepipes. WALLINGTON, WESTON, & CO., Ltd., and BENTLEY, F. Feb. 3, 1943, Nos. 1780 and 4192. [Class 99 (ii)] Composite hose is formed by extruding from a nozzle 1, a core 2 which passes through aligned tubular guides 3, 4, each supporting a rotating drum 7, 8 housing bobbins or cops 26 from which thread is drawn to form superposed spiral windings 28, 35 of opposite hand on the core 2 ; the drum 7 is disposed close to the nozzle 1 to ensure that the core retains sufficient plasticity to permit the inner winding 28 to bed itself therein. An outer rubber sheath may be applied to the windings.
