[Class 120 (iii).] A flanged bobbin a has one or both flanges provided with one or more detachable rings f, so that the diameter of the flange may be reduced when part of the thread has been drawn off. The outer periphery d, f of each ring is preferably rounded and polished, and the rings may be secured by a screw thread, bayonet-catch, or the like e. Suitable materials are wood for the shank and lower flange, and vulcanized fibre or metal for the detachable rings.
