Abstract

512,801. Bobbins. LANSIL, Ltd., and WILCOX, A. March 16, 1938, No. 8151. [Class 120 (iii)] A bobbin has a tapered barrel portion 1 with a fixed end flange 2, and a removable end flange 3 secured by a threaded sleeve 4 which is screwed partly into the barrel and partly into the flange. A disc 6 slides on the sleeve 4 and prevents disturbance of the yarn when the flange 3 is rotated for removal. A removable sleeve 7, Fig. 5, is fitted on the barrel to receive the yarn, and its ends may fit in recesses in the flanges. After the removal of the flange 3 and disc 6 a ball-headed cap 9 is screwed on to the sleeve 4 and forms a flush surface with the barrel.
